From a scrub-covered area of sand to a community that swells to more than 20,000 in season, Siesta Key has changed dramatically – but still has a special charm of its own. Siesta Key is accurately and affectionately known as "Sarasota's Favorite Island". The Key is an eight mile long crescent shaped barrier island, easily accessible for visitors traveling either north or south. From one end of Siesta Key to the other, one can experience our vibrant island lifestyle. Two drawbridges connect Siesta Key to the mainland. On the south end is Stickney Point Road and on the north, Siesta Drive. Both bridges span the Intracoastal Waterway.
Walking along, or swimming and playing in the Gulf of Mexico or merely basking in the tropical sun is enough fun for many folks, but others are drawn by Siesta Beach's many amenities, which include tennis and volleyball courts, shaded playground and picnic/barbecue areas and convenient concession stands. Shallow water near the shoreline and year round lifeguard protection make it a great family beach. Siesta Key rentals for beach or bay are always in big demand

Crescent Beach
Offering the same lush, white sands, azure waters and breath taking sunsets as Siesta Key's Beach, Crescent Beach is relatively secluded and quiet. It has only one public access road approximate to the south of Siesta Beach. The southern tip of Crescent Beach is Point of Rocks. Many snorkel and diving advocates flock to this area for the quality water view and marine life. Various fain and even Manatee are spotted daily in this area. Most of Crescent Beach visitors stay in nearby resorts, rentals. Many rave about Sarasota's best "non-private private" beach.
Turtle Beach
Turtle Beach is at the southern tip of Siesta Key. It's referred to as the sportier, "family play" beach. Tucked away from most of the tourist crowd. Here you will find picnic areas, playground, a volleyball court and a horseshoe pit. Locals use the boat launch and fishing is permitted in the adjacent Blind pass Lagoon. A short commute and you have many restaurants nearby to choose from along with shopping and a few local night spots. Turtle Beach is a narrow beach with a steeper incline, not like Siesta's long and deep beach layout.
